What sets Transylvanian beef apart from beef coming from other parts of the world?


Romania has some of the most extensive farming land areas and high natural value farmland (HNVF). This farmland occupies about 30% of agricultural land in Romania, 5 million hectares respectively, and its biodiversity is a rare thing in other countries. Farmland with high natural value is situated in Transylvania, Maramureș, the Carpathian hillside, where agriculture is the main economic activity traditionally, and a key factor in nature conservation.

The ability to adapt to climate change is critical for agricultural productivity as a means of economic existence for many agricultural communities and, needless to say, for obtaining healthy, nutritious produce.
