HIGH QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY –
Responsible and informed consumption of food is not only a desire of producers but also a generations’ fashion.
“Generation Y” or so-called millennials (young people between the ages of 18 and 35) perceive the rural environment as the main supplier of healthy foods and opt for the food made from ingredients whose provenance is known – it is shown in a qualitative study carried out for a period of two years within the online community created, moderated and coordinated by Exact Research and Consultancy and WaveTreeZero.
According to this study, healthy food is the one for which high-quality ingredients are used, of known origin, which you know exactly how to prepare.
In choosing the products from the stores, the products that manage to convince through the information contained in the label are given priority. There is an increasing tendency to choose quality over quantity – better quality and less quantity – the menu containing safe ingredients, chosen according to the nutritional qualities and provenance. This choice comes, on the one hand, as a result of the belief that “eating too much is a lack of control that generates risks” but also because this way food waste is avoided, practising responsible consumption.
Millennials generally opt for varied menus, international cuisines, experimental food, but especially high-quality habits to lead a balanced life in a healthy and beautiful body.
